Description
“It is a rectangular room.
It is a room seven metres wide.
It is a room eleven metres thirty long.
It is a room four metres thirty high.
The room has two walls – the long ones – which are two metal shelving units.
The two metal shelves house fifty television sets each.
Switched on.
Fifty televisions on each side,
Making up a total of a hundred television sets.
– Nice round number –
all on, projecting their visions.
In front of the hundred television sets, a thin membrane is stretched,
Transparent and reflective, reflecting and multiplying them to infinity.
The room has two Silver walls – the short ones – with a mirror-like sheen, which stretch its boundaries to infinity.
Technical Notes
The room has a very dark floor and ceiling:
reflective elastic membrane, stretched, with a dreamlike shine.
The form a lake which above and below each of which reflects the image of the other to infinity.
The lake-floor of the room is crossed by a pontoon made of dark wood.
The only safe hold for the visitor who enters this
Hyper-room and which,
If he is not to lose himself in the vortex of reflected images,
can hold on only there, and from there, look at – or subject himself to –
the vertigo of the infinite hundred (tele)visions.”
