Programma 101 by Mario Bellini: the mother of modern pc





History Chanel is broadcasting an interesting documentary on Programma 101.
The Programma 101 was a printing programmable calculator manufactured by Olivetti in 1965 with a futuristic design for its time. It was designed by Olivetti engineer Pier Giorgio Perotto in Ivrea. The styling by Mario Bellini was ergonomical and innovative for the time, and earned Bellini the Industrial Design Award.
The Programma 101 was priced at $3,200 and sold about 44,000 units, primarily in the US.
